I also think making it a direct sequel to Spectre was a mistake, as Spectre made a lot of stupid story choices that were carried over to this movie. I found it to be something of a slog, with a nonsensical villain, a lifeless romance that was ported from the last movie, and giving Bond his own kid that he barely interacts with felt like a cheap emotional gimmick. I know No Time to Die, which was Craig's sendoff movie is a generally well-liked Bond movie.
